In 1969, Skip and his wife Linda had their first son Dean. A year later came a daughter, Jaemie, and then a second son Brandon. Growing up, all the kids experienced the hard work ethics of their parents and the time commitment required for keeping things moving in the forward direction. The many hours spent in the dirt pile with all the Tonka construction equipment, and all the free time spent with their Dad working on his truck and learning the importance of leaving a job with a satisfied customer, the boys were destined to follow in their Fathers trade.
After high school and some college, Dean spent his time working on a farm, some local machine shops, and a local driveway grader before working full time for his parents. In 1990, when Dean came aboard full time, a second truck was purchased and he began his place in the company delivering gravel just like his Dad and learning and experiencing all that Skip had tried to impart in him growing up. Not only did Dean learn his Dad’s skill and drive to do the best job possible with the clients, he also learned the skill of listening to the customers desires and then creating a solution to meet their goals. Dean’s drive extended further than delivering gravel.
In 2009, Brandon joined the family business after finishing college and experiencing work for many years outside the family business. The drive that Skip and Linda instilled in their children continues today. Today the company has built a superior crew of high quality competent leaders who exemplify the Company’s legacy. When you call, you will still be speaking to the family and we appreciate all the customers we’ve had the privilege of working with. On November 20th of 2014, God called Skip home after battling cancer. Despite our loss of his physical presence, he continues to live in us and through us in the workings we have every day.
